Gelish Xpress Dip One Color Application
Posted by Ray on 31st May 2020
This year, Gelish came up with their new version of Dip system, which was Gelish Xpress Dip Powder that has built-in activator. Most steps are similar to the normal Dip powder and you can use the same regular basic essentials such as Dip prep, base and top, etc, to use with the Xpress Dip powder. So let's dig in on how to apply Xpress Dip Powder for one color application.

PREPARATION
1.) Sanitize the nails and hands. Push back the cuticle and clean the surrounding nail plate of any excess cuticle.
2.) Shape the natural nail using 180/180 or 240/240 nail file.
3.) Gently remove the shine using the 180 grit side of the 100/180 nail buffer.
4.) Wipe the natural nail with Nail Surface Cleanser and a lint-free nail wipe to cleanse the nail and remove all dust.
5.) Sparingly, apply Gelish Dip Prep to all nails.
NOTE: if there are any cuts or abrasions to the skin you won’t be able to use a dipping technique. To avoid cross contamination, you can sprinkle the Express Dip powder onto the nail and then discard the used powder at the end of the service.
GELISH XPRESS DIP ONE COLOR
1.) Follow the steps for Gelish Xpress Dip preparation as outlined above.
2.) Working on one nail at a time, apply a thin coat of Dip Base Coat to ¾ of the nail.
TIP- When using a dark or neon color, we recommend applying Clear As Day or Sheer & Silk powders to the nail first to prevent staining.
3.)Quickly dip into desired Xpress Dip Powder jar.
NOTE: always move the dip jar away from the finger when tapping off any excess to avoid any used powder falling back into the jar.
TIP - Do not overload product. Thin, even coats of Base is ideal to avoid bunching. Dip into jar at a 45-degree angle and avoid wiggling the finger.
4.) Working on one nail at a time, apply a thin coat of Dip Base Coat to 100% of the nail.
5.) Quickly dip into desired Xpress Dip Powder jar.
6.) Apply Dip Activator to all nails.
7.) Follow with a layer of Dip Base Coat to seal the nail and allow air dry.
8.) Smooth and refine the surface with 100/180 Buffer.
9.) Wipe the natural nail with Nail Surface Cleanse and a lint-free nail wipe to cleanse the nail
and remove all dust
10.) Apply Dip Activator on all nails and wait 20 seconds. Remove excess Activator with a lint-free wipe.
11.) Apply two coats of Gelish Dip Top Coat to seal and create a high shine.
12.) Let nails dry for 5 minutes and apply Nourish Cuticle Oil to the skin surrounding the nail.
